“Amazing Woman’s Day Launches International Women’s Outreach in Toronto, Canada March 5-6.”
“It is time for Canadian women to unleash our real wealth, to share our authentic potential, and create cooperative business,” says Amanda Willett, Executive Director of Amazing Woman’s Day Toronto. Amazing Woman’s Day 2010 provides the platform to make this possible.
On March 5th and 6th, 2010 Amazing Woman’s Day founder, Marsh Engle, along with Amanda Willett brings the Amazing Woman’s Day Movement to Toronto, Canada. An event with a 10 year history of inspiration and outreach to women in over 50 US cities, Toronto will be the first International city to celebrate the day.
The day long program brings together hundreds of women, providing educational resources that support women in their vision of creating and sustaining success. A key element of Amazing Woman’s Day is the Amazing Woman Spirit Award Ceremony created to honour some of the most compelling voices of feminine leadership within the community. Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion is one of these voices to be honoured with a special award.
For the March 5th and 6th celebration Amazing Woman’s Day Toronto partners with “Up With Women”, a charitable foundation that assists women who are dealing with the stigma of homelessness. The success of this organization is impacting women and children within shelters across the city of Toronto.
The event features inspirational speakers from both Canada and the United States, with local leaders supporting small group discussion and breakout sessions. The event is designed for entrepreneurs, small business owners, independent professionals, mothers, coaches, mentors, consultants, speakers, authors, trainers, and other leaders who are looking for inspiration, resources and connection.
The event takes place March 5-6, 2010 at the Hilton Suites Conference Center & Spa, in Markham ON.
Tickets can be purchased here.
History of Amazing Woman’s Day
The celebration of Amazing Woman’s Day was first conceived over a decade ago by transformational coach and author Marsh Engle. As the activities, programs and outreach of the Amazing Woman initiative has expanded over the years, the core mission remained the same: To serve as a unifying symbol of women everywhere who wish to bring a sense of value and purpose to their life, their community and the world. It was in March, 2001 that women throughout the United States first joined to establish the Amazing Woman’s Day movement. In 2002 the celebration grew to 50 U.S. cities. A United States Congressional Proclamation acknowledges Amazing Woman’s Day as a movement of inspiration among women, empowering entrepreneurship and creativity. Since that time, the Amazing Woman’s Day movement has served to inspire thousands across the United States and beyond. Additional celebration cities to join the movement this year include; Kingston, Jamaica; New York City, New York; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; San Francisco, California, Los Angeles, California.
