Women entrepreneurs come to me to work on their marketing and sales so they can grow their business. Many of them struggle with the marketing and self-promotion part of their business before they coach with me.

It’s very common that self-promotion is the fatal flaw for many entrepreneurial women.

Is that true for you?

Women say that marketing themselves and their services is one of their most challenging tasks. They have a hard time blowing their own horn with confidence. They cringe at the thought of being rejected when someone says no. They don’t want to appear pushy or salesy when they talk about what they do.

If you find you’re resisting promoting yourself and your business, and not attracting all the clients you really want, here are three things you can do starting today to feel more confident and powerful:

  • Work on developing a more empowering set of beliefs about yourself, your strengths, your talents, and your abilities. Know that you have a unique gift to offer that many people need and want.
  • Build supportive relationships with every communication you have. Grow your community of people who want to stay connected with you and build a network of mentoring and support.
  • Switch to attraction marketing and education-based marketing an you’ll never have to sell again!

If you’d like help turning your fatal flaw into a powerful strength, contact me to schedule a strategy session. I can help!

I’d love to hear what you do to feel more confident promoting yourself and your services.

Are you ready to step up to a bigger stage in your business?

For several months now, I have been feeling called to step up in a bigger way and live more of my purpose by getting out and giving more talks, presentations, and live events.

I must say, I have also been resisting being more visible in this way and sharing my message with larger audiences in several ways by:

  • not clarifying what I would like to speak about
  • not honing in on my unique talents, specialty or passion
  • getting bogged down in too many to-dos and non-revenue-generating activities

Are you experiencing any of these things?

“Could Your Business Model Be More Profitable?”
By Jan Marie Dore

When I first started providing business coaching services, I followed the time-for-money model that all coaches at that time and most professional service providers were trained to use. I charged a monthly fee for two hours of time spent with me every month.

That worked well while I was in start-up mode. But it stopped working so well when I grew into a full practice. I ran out of the time and energy I needed to add more new clients and additional income. I started to realize there was a cap on my profits.

I could see only three options: either work harder and longer hours to increase my income, or raise my rates, or settle for a less than satisfactory income level.

Have You Narrowed Your Niche?

Posted by: Jan Marie Dore | Comments (2)

For far too many years in my business, I struggled with narrowing my specialty and choosing a niche. I believed that fine tuning my niche would keep away much needed business and clients.

I have found the opposite to be true. Now my niche has become more like a beacon that attracts just the right clients without as much effort on my part.

What is a niche? My definition of a niche is a target market plus a specialty. You can start with one or the other, but in order to have a true niche, you must have both.

Narrowing your niche just means that you are positioning yourself more closely to the people or companies who could most benefit from your services. When you hone in on your ideal target audience, business comes to you more easily, you enjoy doing what you do every day, and you make more money. Your marketing becomes much more effortless, and people start to call you instead of you chasing after them.
