Doing Less In More Time
Posted by: | CommentsOver the years, the compelling challenges of time, priorities, and life balance have been one of the most frequently mentioned concerns of individuals I coach.
Our lives have sped up so much that we often feel that we are losing track of who we are. And, in our rush to achieve ‘more’ in less time, the things that really are most important to us seem to always drop to the bottom of the priority list.
We often approach our daily to-do’s thinking that if we can just cross every completed task off our list, we might find some for the important things. But, given the complexity and demands of every-day life, most of us find it difficult to get everything done. You can certainly make a renewed effort to achieve more in less time, or you might actively work to discover the real secret of life: how to do less in more time.

Are You Asking for the Support You Need?
Posted by: | CommentsI’m getting involved in a new venture that will add a new income stream to my growing business. Through this opportunity, I will be working with a team of very supportive entrepreneurial people.
In my evaluation of the opportunity, I had some initial doubt that I wanted to do it – or that I could do it. By letting in others feedback and support, I realized that I was extremely capable of doing this and would really enjoy it.
The part of me that I needed to let go of was feeling that I had to figure everything out by myself. I’ve been extremely independent all my life. Letting other people in with their ideas and support is something I have learned is so important to the success of my business. Now, I always have a support team I can reach out to. I know I couldn’t grow my business to where I want it to go without that level of support in place.
Where do you need to let in support in your business? Are you reaching out and asking for the help you need?
- If you have doubt – is there someone who could remind you how talented you really are?
- If you are uncertain or procrastinating – can you find a person or a group to help you get clear and hold you accountable?
- If you lack confidence - are you reaching out to a mentor who can guide you through this feeling so you can step into your power?
There is a major shift taking place in the world. These times, more than ever, we need to reach out for support and to give support and encouragement to others.
By letting others in on what’s holding you back, you can move through it more quickly and get to the other side where your power and purpose lie waiting for you.
I’d love to hear the challenges you’re experiencing. I’m here to support you!
Get Really Clear On Your Priorities
Posted by: | CommentsDo you feel you have clarity about what’s most important to you? Most people don’t – often because they just don’t spend time thinking about what matters most.

Learning to Zigzag
Posted by: | CommentsThe inspiration for today’s article came from a visit to my hairdresser. He gave me a ‘zigzag’ part, when for many years I had had a perfectly straight, linear part in my hair. With a simple flick of his comb, he expanded my concept of what a ‘part’ was, encouraging me into an out-of-the-box idea that I had never even considered.
I hope to inspire you to think out of the box – to step out of our typical linear thinking and think more creatively and innovatively.

On a road trip I took one time called “Back Roads and Country Inns”, we drove down many back roads and winding country lanes, often not entirely sure where we would end up. The joy was in the exploration and the journey, not in arriving at the destination.
It struck me that we are often willing when on vacation to put the roadmap aside and just explore. We discover charming towns and hidden beauties as we just follow the road wherever it leads, enjoying the journey, living moment to moment.

Clear the Clutter to Attract New Clients
Posted by: | CommentsI hope you had as wonderful a holiday season as I did. I had lots of family time, parties, movies, lunches and great conversations. But, the one thing I always like about holiday time is having some down time; some quiet time to myself to think and dream and reflect on how I want year ahead to be.
Something I did last week that I do several times each year is to clear the clutter to make way for new. I do this whenever I want to attract new clients or create a new program.

One weekend, I cleared files and clutter in my office and created space for new clients, and by Wednesday I had three new clients without actively doing any marketing. The work you do internally is reflected externally in your results.
(< == This is not my office!)
I give this as an assignment to new coaching clients when I start working with them. You'd be amazed at how your energy changes and what new opportunities - and new clients - can show up when you get rid of the old and create space for the new.
Here's what I did that you can do too to make space for new clients and new opportunities to show up:

Who Am I Now?
Posted by: | CommentsClick the arrow to listen to Jan Marie Dore reading this article

Typically, at the start of a new year, many of us feel the urge to set new goals. The slate feels as if it has been wiped clean with the sweep of the clock into a new year, and we are inspired to imagine we can accomplish great things.
This year, why not try a new way of ‘going goalless’. Focus on who you are becoming rather than any tangible, specific goals. Make a plan to develop qualities of your SELF that will shift you into a new space and direction in your life and your business.
