Create a Vision Board to Activate the Law of Attraction
ByI created my vision board for 2010 for last week. It’s an activity I do every year, often with friends and colleagues. A vision board is a visual representation of the goals you want to achieve or what you want to do, be or have in your life. It can also be called a vision map or dream board. It can be created as a collage from pictures, images, symbols, words or affirmations.
Your vision is about who you want to be or become as well as what you want to do or have. You can draw on the law attraction by visualizing daily the new things, people and opportunities you want to bring into your life.

I love to block out a few hours to get really creative with my ideas. I put on some of my favourite music, pull out a variety of pictures, magazines and travel brochures. I have kept my vision boards over the years, and it’s amazing to look back and see everything that has come into my life because I intended it.
This year on my vision board, I have images of my new book and home-study system, my women’s mastermind groups, seminars and retreats that I’ll be leading, the makeover of my bedroom and my wardrobe, and a vacation to an exotic place. I’m ready to attract big things into my life. I also have an image that represents me stepping up in a bigger way. I am achieving my long time dream of establishing a learning center for women entrepreneurs.
Here’s what you can do to create your vision board for 2010:
- invite friends and colleagues to join you for a vision day.
- gather a stack of pictures, magazines and travel brochures.
- buy colored poster board and glue sticks.
- pull out some colored markers, scissors and tape.
- clear space so you can get messy and creative.
- put on your favorite music to inspire your imagination.
- get quiet, close your eyes and tune in inside to imagine what you want to be, do or have in your life.
- cut out any and all pictures, words or symbols that appeal to you.
- edit down your stack of pictures to only those things you really want to experience in the next 12 months.
- place the images on your poster board in any order you want and glue them down with a glue stick.
Then, enjoy visualizing what you really want. Spend time every morning and evening looking at your vision board and imagining what you really want. Visualize it as if it were happening right now in the present moment. Feel what you would feel if you actually had these things in your life, imagining the sights, smells and sounds as if it were happening now.
Instead of poster board, you can also create your vision:
- in a journal or notebook
- online as a screen saver
- on pages in a 3-ring binder
- on individual, smaller pages you can place around the room
Post your comments below on what your vision is for 2010. I’d love to hear about it!
Wishing you much joy and success in 2010,
Jan
